High Voltage Lightning Arrester
35KV HY5WZ-51/134GY Zinc Oxide Arrester
Zinc oxide arrester is a non-linear resistive element usually composed of zinc oxide blocks. When the voltage is lower than the normal operating voltage, the impedance of the zinc oxide arrester is very high and can be almost ignored. However, when the system suffers a lightning strike or an overvoltage occurs in the power grid, the impedance of the arrester drops rapidly, forming a conductive path to guide the overvoltage to the ground, thereby protecting power equipment and lines from damage.
Zinc oxide arresters are usually installed on the high-voltage side or medium-voltage side of the power system to protect important electrical equipment such as transformers, cables, and switchgear from lightning strikes and overvoltage. They can also be installed at the neutral point of transmission lines to protect them from lightning strikes and atmospheric overvoltages.
Zinc oxide surge arresters have the advantages of fast response, high withstand voltage, and low energy consumption. They can conduct quickly within microseconds, effectively reducing overvoltage levels and protecting the safe and stable operation of the power system.
In addition, zinc oxide arresters also have good durability and anti-pollution flashover capabilities, and can operate stably for a long time under harsh environmental conditions, reducing maintenance and replacement costs.
